Thank you for sharing, Michelle. I totally agree on weekends away feeling doubled in time. Thank you.
One thing I’d love to read about is your perspective on giving feedback/directness. It’s one of my areas to improve on this year. I always admire your honesty with kindness on IDM. It occurs to me that you can be very straightforward and clear in your opinion/questions without causing offence or defensiveness. Would love to hear how you developed this. Thank you!
Oh super interesting! OK, I'll add that to my list. Thank you. To be honest though, I've often been told that I can veer towards the way too blunt, so it's been a learning to sugarcoat the directness at times! But I will give it proper thought and pull it together as a post.
I share with you the experience of travelling during the Christmas-New Year days, only for a few days but in my case I travelled to Boston, MA (I currently live in rural South Lincolnshire).
The contrast of life-style and culture helped me to embrace my ordinary life and 'breathe' and feel alive, being inspired and energised (despite missing my dog and cats every day)
Travelling with my partner and step kids (teenagers) involved an 'alignment' on expectations, letting it be and being easy to the highs and lows on emotions of others. I believe I am more comfortable embracing who I am and this desire to be better is more intense, but the first step is finding joy in the ordinary.
Thanks for sharing your experience, it is truly appreciated.
Beautifully put. Thank you. And very very true about aligning expectations. A trip full of temple visits would not have sat well with my small! Even though the time we spent in Nintendo World nearly killed me (he was so insanely happy though)... ;-)
This is a great article to read right this moment today. It makes sense to me as it’s what I’ve been doing recently in very small ways. You’ve articulated my experience. I always enjoy reading your words. Happy New Year ❤️
Oh Michelle . This is beautiful and has really brought me pause for thought . Thankyou !
