white cat sleeps under white comforter

This post is prompted by a poll I ran on Instagram, discovering that many of you are struggling to sleep. I’ve previously covered some of the more practical logistics around sleep, and a run down on bedlinen. See links below, but this post is dedicated to a very particular feeling... You’re exhausted. You crawl into bed. Lights off. Eyes closed. And then... your brain decides it's time to think about everything. The email you didn’t send. That thing you said in 2017. Whether your child is okay. If you should be doing more with your life. Or less.

Why is this happening? You’ve dimmed the lights, fluffed the pillows, tidied your table tops, even been burning lavender oil… But inside? You’re still holding on.

To the undone.
The unspoken.
The uncertain.

And here’s the thing: you can’t sleep while you’re still carrying the emotional load of the day that you’ve not quite set down. Here’s how to clear it, and get back the deep restorative rest you need.
