How to deep clean any room

It’s far easier to blitz a room if it is first clear of clutter. Neat spaces also tend to look more pristine, so even though clearing and cleaning are different, they sit hand in hand.
Know too that the more often you do it, the easier it gets. Listen to a podcast or audio book as you go. And of course, if you have the means, don't be ashamed to outsource it completely! No one appreciates a martyr. But if you elect to do it yourself, I believe there is no better way to fully engage with the very fabric of your home. Herewith then my failsafe simple system for (monthly) deep cleaning of any room...
· Clean from top to bottom: for example dust picture rails, picture tops and window ledges before you tackle the floor. Let it all drop down.
· Clean from left to right: or vice versa as you wish, but stick to one way to avoid retracing steps.
· Do dry before wet: dispatch all dust first by vacuuming. Follow with surface wipe downs and final floor mopping.
· Work from outside to in: put all easily moveable furniture into the centre of the room to be cleaned so that you can get to skirtings. Once walls, shelves, skirtings
